Reach Weekly

The week

The first week of Reach Weekly

A weekly read on who reached whom, across social feeds and the answers AI assistants give.

Reach used to mean one thing: how many people saw a post. It now means a few things at once. How many saw the post, how many saw the clip of the post, how many read a summary of it in a newsletter, and how many got the gist from an AI assistant that read it so they would not have to.

Reach Weekly follows all of those. Each week we pick the changes that moved reach and explain what they mean for a person or a brand trying to be seen.

What a week covers

Platform changes, which arrive without notice and change what gets shown. Format shifts, where one kind of post starts to travel and another stops. The tools people use to publish, reply and measure, and what changed in them. And the newest channel: the answers AI assistants give, where you are seen only if the assistant names you.

How we check

We read the platforms' own announcements and documentation, look at the public numbers where there are any, and talk to the people posting every day. When a creator shares a dashboard with us, we say the number is theirs. When a platform makes a claim about its own algorithm, we attribute it to the platform.

Who publishes this

Reach Weekly is published by Good Standing Media. When a piece concerns a company the publisher has a stake in, it says so at the top.
